PRAN – Permanent Retirement Account Number

The Central Government has introduced the New Pension System (NPS) with effect from January 1, 2004. The new pension system covers, at present, new entrants to Central Government services (excluding Defence Forces) and is expected in due course to be available to all other citizens of India. Under the new pension system, CRA will be required to maintain subscriber accounts and issue a unique Permanent Retirement Account Number (PRAN) to each subscriber. In this system, deductions towards NPS will be made from subscriber’s salary on monthly basis and equal amount of contribution will be made by the Government. The accumulated amount will be reflected in his/her Permanent Retirement Account while he/she is working and shall use the accumulations at retirement to procure a pension for the rest of his/her life. Subscribers in this system shall enjoy certain facilities and rights including portability across jobs and locations, choices of selection of Pension Funds and investment schemes, freedom to switch between service providers and nationwide access.

இயற்கை முறையில் பயனுள்ள வைத்திய குறிப்புகள்:-

1. உணவுக்கு பின் தண்ணீரில் சிறிது கருப்பட்டியை கரைத்து குடிக்கவும். இதனால் வயிற்றில் அமிலம் சுரப்பது குறையும்!

2. துளசி இலைகள் போடப்பட்ட நீரை தினமும் குடித்து வந்தால் தொண்டைப் புண் ஏற்படாது.

3. 1/4 தேக்கரண்டி கரு மிளகுத் தூள், 3 தேக்கரண்டி எலுமிச்சை சாறு, ஒரு கோப்பை நீரில் ஒரு தேக்கரண்டி தேன், இந்த கலவையை 3-4 மாதங்களுக்கு தொடர்ந்து எடுத்துக் கொண்டுவந்தால் உடல் எடை குறையும்.

4. காலை உணவிற்கு முன் தினமும் ஒரு தக்காளி சாப்பிட்டு வரவேண்டும், ஒரு 3-4 மாதங்களுக்கு இதைச்செய்தால் உடல் எடை குறையும்.

5. தினமும் காலையில் முழுதாக வளர்ந்த 10-12 கருவேப்பிலைகளை சாப்பிட்டு வரவும், 3-4 மாதங்களில் உடல் பருமனில் மிகுந்த மாற்றத்தை காணலாம்.

6. அரிசி, உருளை கிழங்கு போன்ற மாவுச் சத்துப் பொருட்களை குறைக்கவும், பதிலாக கோதுமை எடுத்துக் கொள்ளலாம்.

7. கடுமையான இரும‌ல் இரு‌ந்தா‌ல் 3 கப் தண்ணீருடன் வெற்றிலையையும், மிளகையும் போட்டு கொதிக்க வைத்து குடித்து வரவும்.

8. பல் வலி குறைய துளசி இலை 2, கொஞ்சம் உப்பு மற்றும் மிளகுத்தூள் ஆகியவற்றை வலி இருக்கும் இடத்தில் வை‌த்து அழு‌‌த்‌தி வரவு‌ம். வ‌லி குறையு‌ம்.

9. சருமத்தில் உள்ள சிறு தழும்புகளைப் போக்க குளிக்கும் நீரில் துளசி இலைகளை போ‌ட்டு குளிக்கவும். ‌விரை‌வி‌ல் தழு‌ம்புக‌ள் மறையு‌ம்.

10. குழந்தைகளுக்கு ஏற்படும் காய்ச்சல் மற்றும் இருமலுக்கு நீருடன் தேனைக்கலந்து கொடுத்தா‌ல் ‌விரை‌வி‌ல் இரும‌‌ல் ‌நி‌ற்கு‌ம். கா‌ய்‌ச்ச‌ல் குறையு‌ம்.

11. காரட் மற்றும் தக்கா‌ளி‌ச் சாறு இதனுடன் கொஞ்சம் தேன் கலந்து குழந்தைகளுக்கு கொடுத்து வந்தால் உட‌ல் வ‌லிமை பெரும்.

12. வயிற்றுப் போக்கை உடனடியாக நிறுத்த கொய்யா இலைகளை மென்று தின்றால் போதுமானது.See More

முட்டைகோஸ்யின் மருத்துவ குணம் பற்றிய தகவல் !!!

இயற்கையின் அருட்கொடைகள் அனைத்தும் மனிதனுக்கு ஏதோ வகையில் பயன்பட்டு வருகிறது. உலகில் மனிதன் தன் தேவைக்காக இயற்கையை அதிகம் பயன்படுத்துகிறான்.

மனித இனம் தோன்றிய காலம் முதலே அவர்களுக்கு காய், கொடி, கீரை, பழம் என பல வகைகளில் இயற்கையானது உணவளித்து வருகிறது.

இதையே சித்தர்களும் ஞானிகளும், அன்றாடம் உண்ணும் உணவின் மூலம் எப்படி ஆரோக்கியத்தை வளர்த்துக்கொள்வது என்பதையும், அவற்றை எக்காலங்களில் உண்ணவேண்டும், எப்படி உண்ணவேண்டும் என்பதை தெளிவாகக் கூறியுள்ளனர்.

இப்படி அன்றாட உணவில் நாம் சேர்த்துக்கொள்ளும் காய்கள், கீரைகள், பழங்களின் மருத்துவக் குணங்களை நம் ஒவ்வொரு இதழிலும் அறிந்து வருகிறோம். அந்த வகையில் நாம் அடிக்கடி உபயோகிக்கும் முட்டைகோஸ் பற்றி தெரிந்து கொள்வோம்.

முட்டை கோஸ் கீரை வகையைச் சேர்ந்தது. இதன் கொழுந்து உருண்டையாகக் காணப்படும். இதனையோ உணவாகப் பயன்படுத்துகிறோம்.

இதில் உயிர்ச்சத்துக்கள், தாதுக்கள் நிறைந்துள்ளன. உடலுக்கு ஊட்டம் தரும் உணவாகும். உடல் வளர்ச்சிக்கு முட்டை கோஸ் மிகவும் சிறந்தது.

முட்டைகோஸின் மேல் பகுதியில் மூடியிருக்கும் முற்றிய காய்ந்த இலைகளை நீக்கிவிட்டு சிறிதாக நறுக்கி பாசிப்பயறுடன் சேர்த்து கூட்டாகவோ அல்லது பொரியலாகவோ செய்து சாப்பிடலாம்.

முட்டைகோஸ் உண்பதால் ஏற்படும் நன்மைகள்

கண் பார்வைக் கோளாறுகளைப் போக்கும். கண் பார்வை நரம்புகளை சீராக இயங்கச் செய்யும். இதில் உள்ள வைட்டமின் ஏ சத்து கண் பார்வைக்கு சிறந்தது.

மூல நோயின் பாதிப்பைக் குறைக்கும். அஜீரணத்தால் உண்டாகும் வயிற்றுவலியை நீக்கும்.

சரும வறட்சியை நீக்கும். சருமத்திற்கு பொலிவைக் கொடுக்கும்.

வியர்வைப் பெருக்கியாக செயல்படும். சிறுநீரை நன்கு பிரித்து வெளியேற்றும்.

எலும்புகளுக்கு வலு கொடுக்கும். இதில் சுண்ணாம்புச்சத்து அதிகமிருப்பதால் எலும்புகளும் பற்களும் உறுதியாகும்.

பெண்களுக்கு மெனோபாஸ் காலங்களில் உண்டாகும் கால்சியம், பாஸ்பரஸ் இழப்பை முட்டைகோஸ் ஈடுசெய்யும்.

நரம்புகளுக்கு வலு கொடுக்கும். நரம்புத் தளர்ச்சியைப் போக்கும்.

தொற்று நோய்கள் ஏற்படாமல் தடுக்கும். உடலுக்கு நோய் எதிர்ப்பு சக்தியை அதிகரிக்கும்.

முட்டைகோஸை நீரில் போட்டு சிறிது நேரம் ஊறவைத்து அந்த நீரைக் கொண்டு முகம் கழுவினால் வறட்சியான சருமம் பளபளப்படையும்.

உடல் சூட்டைத் தணிக்கும். நாள்பட்ட மலச்சிக்கலைப் போக்கும். குடல் சளியைப் போக்கும். இரத்தத்தை சுத்தப்படுத்தும்.

சில நாட்களுக்கு முன்பு சரவணா ஸ்டோர்ஸ் சென்றிருந்தேன். இரவு 9 மணி. அதிகக் கூட்டம் இல்லை. நாள் முழுக்க உழைத்த களைப்புடன், வலுக்கட்டாயமாக ஒட்ட வைத்த சிறு புன்னகையுடன் துணிகளை எடுத்துக் காட்டிக் கொண்டிருந்தார் அந்தப் பெண். மெலிந்த தேகம். மிஞ்சிப் போனால் 25 வயது இருக்கலாம்.

‘‘எந்த ஊர் நீங்க?’’
‘‘திருவண்ணாமலை பக்கம்..’’

... ‘‘திருநெல்வேலிகாரங்கதான் நிறைய இருப்பாங்கல்ல..’’
‘‘இப்போ அப்படி இல்ல... அவங்கல்லாம் வேற கடைக்குப் போயிட்டாங்க.. நாங்க திருவண்ணாமலை பிள்ளைங்க நிறைய பேரு இருக்கோம். 150 பேராச்சும் இருப்போம்..’’
‘‘தினமும் எத்தனை மணிக்கு வேலைக்கு வரணும்?’’
‘‘காலையில 9 மணிக்கு வரணும். நைட் 11 மணிக்கு முடியும்.’’
‘‘அப்படின்னா 14 மணி நேரம் வருதேங்க.. கிட்டத்தட்ட 2 ஷிப்ட். இங்கே ஷிப்ட் கணக்கு எல்லாம் உண்டா?’’

‘‘ம்ஹூம்.. உட்காரக் கூடாது. வேலையில சேர்க்கும்போதே அதை எல்லாம் சொல்லித்தான் சேர்ப்பாங்க. மீறி உட்கார்ந்தா கேமராவுல பார்த்துட்டு சூப்பரவைசர் வந்திடுவார்’’

- யாரோ ஒரு வாடிக்கையாளருடன் நீண்ட நேரம் பேசிக் கொண்டிருப்பதையும் சூப்ரவைஸர் கேமராவில் பார்க்கக்கூடும். அதனால் அந்தப் பெண் இங்கும் அங்குமாக துணிகளை எடுத்து வைத்தபடியேப் பேசுகிறார்.

‘‘உங்களுக்கு எவ்வளவு சம்பளம்?’’
‘‘5,500 ரூபாய்.’’
‘‘வெறும் 5500 ரூபாய்தானா? வேற ஏதாவது முன்பணம், கல்யாணம் ஆகும்போது பணம் தர்றது... அதெல்லாம் உண்டா?’’
‘‘இல்லண்ணே... அது எதுவும் கிடையாது. இதான் மொத்த சம்பளம்.’’
‘‘இதை வெச்சு என்ன பண்ணுவீங்க?’’
‘‘தங்குறது, சாப்பாடு ஃப்ரீ. எனக்கு ஒண்ணும் செலவு இல்லை. சம்பளத்தை வீட்டுக்கு கொஞ்சம் அனுப்புவேன். மீதி பேங்க் அக்கவுண்டுல போட்டுருவேன்’’
‘‘எத்தனை வருஷமா இங்கே வேலைப் பார்க்குறீங்க?’’
‘‘அஞ்சு வருஷம் முடியப் போகுது. அப்பவுலேர்ந்து இதே சம்பளம்தான். இன்னும் ஏத்தலை..’’
‘‘வேலைக்கு சேர்ந்த முதல் மாசத்துலேர்ந்து மாசம் 5500 ரூபாய்தான் சம்பளமா?’’
‘‘ஆமாம்.’’
‘‘யாராச்சும் 10 ஆயிரம் சம்பளம் வாங்குறாங்களா?’’
‘‘சூப்ரவைசருங்க வாங்குவாங்க. அதுவும் பத்து வருஷம் வேலை பார்த்திருந்தாதான். இல்லேன்னா ஏழாயிரம், எட்டாயிரம்தான்.’’
‘‘லீவு எல்லாம் உண்டா?’’
‘‘மாசம் ரெண்டு நாள் லீவு உண்டு. அதுக்கு ஒரு நாளைக்கு 200 ரூபாய் சம்பளத்துலப் பிடிச்சுக்குவாங்க.’’
‘‘பிடிச்சுக்குவாங்களா? அப்படின்னா லீவே கிடையாதா?’’
‘‘அதான் சொல்றனேண்ணே... லீவு உண்டு. ஆனால் சம்பளம் பிடிச்சுக்குவாங்க. அதனால நாங்க பெரும்பாலும் லீவு போட மாட்டோம்’’
‘‘அப்போ ஊருக்குப் போறது எல்லாம்?’’
‘‘ஆறு மாசத்துக்கு ஒரு தடவை ஒரு வாரம் ஊருக்குப் போயிட்டு வருவேன். அதுக்கு லீவு கொடுப்பாங்க. ஆனால் அந்த லீவுக்கும் சம்பளம் கிடையாது’’
‘‘ஊருக்குப் போகும்போது இங்கேருந்து துணி எடுத்துட்டுப் போவீங்களா?’’
‘‘இங்கே விற்குற விலைக்கு வாங்க முடியுமா? வெளியில பாண்டி பஜார்ல எடுத்துட்டுப் போவோம். இங்கே எடுத்தாலும் சில சுடிதார் மெட்டீரியல் கம்மியா இருந்தா எடுப்போம்’’
‘‘உங்களுக்கு விலை குறைச்சு தரமாட்டாங்களா?’’
‘‘ம்ஹூம்... அதெல்லாம் தரமாட்டாங்க. உங்களுக்கு என்ன விலையோ, அதான் எங்களுக்கும்’’
‘‘உங்களுக்கு எப்போ கல்யாணம்?’’
‘‘தெரியலை..’’

‘‘ஊர்ல என்ன பண்றாங்க..’’
‘‘நெல் விவசாயம்..’’
‘‘எவ்வளவு நிலம் இருக்கு?’’
‘‘தெரியலை.. ஆனால் கம்மியாதான் இருக்கு’’
‘‘இங்கே இப்படி கஷ்டப்பட்டு வேலைப் பார்க்குறதுக்குப் பதிலா ‘சரவணா ஸ்டோர்ஸ்ல வேலைப் பார்த்தேன்’னு சொல்லி திருவண்ணாமலையிலேயே ஒரு துணிக்கடையில வேலை வாங்க முடியாதா?’’
‘‘வாங்கலாம். ஆனா இதைவிட கம்மியா சம்பளம் கொடுப்பாங்க. இங்கன்னா வேலை கஷ்டமா இருந்தாலும் சாப்பாடும், தங்குறதும் ஃப்ரீ. சம்பளக் காசு மிச்சம். அங்கே அப்படி இல்லையே..’’
‘‘இங்கே எவ்வளவு பேரு வேலைப் பார்ப்பீங்க?’’
‘‘இந்த ஒரு கடையில மட்டும் பொம்பளைப் பிள்ளைங்க மட்டும் 800 பேர் இருக்கோம்.’’
‘‘மெட்ராஸ்ல எங்கேயாச்சும் சுத்திப் பார்த்திருக்கீங்களா?’’
‘‘ஆவடில எங்க அக்கா வீடு இருக்கு. எப்பவாச்சும் ஒரு நாள் லீவு போட்டுட்டுப் போயிட்டு வருவேன்.’’

- கனத்த மனதுடன் அந்தப் பெண்ணிடம் விடைபெற்று நகர்ந்தோம். அந்த தளம் முழுக்கவும், அடுத்தடுத்த தளங்களிலும் இதேபோன்ற உழைத்துக் களைத்த பெண்கள். அவர்களின் உழைப்பை உறிஞ்சி எழுந்து நிற்கும் சரவணா ஸ்டோர்ஸ் என்ற அந்த பிரமாண்ட கட்டடம் ஓர் ஆறடுக்கு சவக்கிடங்கு போலதே தோன்றியது.

Meaning

nalineedalagata jalam – the water (drop) playing on a lotus petal or leaf, ati – extremely, taralam – uncertain (existence), tadvat – so, jeevitam – life, atisaya – ever (greatly), chapalam – unstable, viddhi – understand, vyaadhi abhimana grastam – consumed by desease and conceit (vyaadhyabhimaanagrastam), lokam – the world, soka – with pangs, hatam – is (riddled) beset, cha – and, samastam – whole.

Substance

The water drop on the lotus-leaf is very unsteady and has extremely uncertain existence, so also is life. understand that the world is equally unstable and it will be swallowed by disease and conceit. Life is ultimately nothing but worry, misery and grief.

Commentary

After giving a stern warning in the first three slokas against the arrogance of knowledge, the lure of wealth and the lust for sex, Sri Sankaracharya speaks of the nature of life in this sloka.

It is a natural phenomenon in the world with all the intelligent creatures that they wish to possess more and more to enjoy, thinking that one gets relieved from the sense of insecurity by having wealth. Even the richest man in the world is not really happy with his earnings, as his wants are more.

The imaginary mansions one builds around oneself with money or wealth will not stand to protect one when the death knocks at the door. The more the number of possessions one accumulates, the more one has to feel insecure and fear, as one day one may lose them, perhaps, when one is not careful and cautious in one’s dealings, but definitely at the time of death.

Given below is a reproduction of Dasaka 33 from Narayaneeyam which is a summarized version of the story of Ambarisha described in detail from sloka 15 of chapter 4 and the whole of Chapter 5 of the 9th Canto of Srimad Bhagavatam. A simple transalation in English is given below.

नाभागनामकनरेन्द्रसुतोऽम्बरीषः ।
सप्तार्णवावृतमहीदयितोऽपि रेमे
त्वत्संगिषु त्वयि च मग्नमनाः सदैव ॥१॥

Ambarisha, son of king Nabhaga who himself was the grandson of Vaivaswata Manu, though the Lord of the Earth surrounded by the seven seas, reveled in the company of your devotees with his mind always immersed in you.

त्वत्प्रीतये सकलमेव वितन्वतोऽस्य
भक्त्यैव देव! नचिरादभृथाः प्रसादम्।
येनास्य याचनमृतेऽप्यभिरक्षणार्थं
चक्रं भवान् प्रविततार सहस्रधारम् ॥२॥

He did everything only to please you and you were O Lord ! pleased by his devotion before long so that, without his asking for it, you gave him a disc with a thousand cutting edges for his protection

स द्वादशी व्रतमथो भवदर्चनार्थं
वर्षं दधौ मधुवने यमुनोपकण्ठे ।
पत्न्या समं सुमनसा महतीं वितन्वन्
पूजां, द्विजेषु विसृजन् पशुषष्टिकोटिम् ॥३॥

In order to worship you, he took a vow to observe Dwadashi Vrata for one full year at Madhuvana near the Yamuna river. Accompanied by his wife, of good heart, he preformed worship on a large scale gifting to brahmins sixty crore cows.

तत्राथ पारणदिने भवदर्चनान्ते
दुर्वाससास्य मुनिना भवनं प्रपेदे ।
भोक्तुं वृतश्च स नृपेण परार्तिशीलो
मन्दं जगाम यमुनां नियमान् व्यधास्यन् ॥४॥
On the day of breaking the fast after the completion of the worship, Durvasa came there. He was invited to dine with the king Ambarisha. Durvasa, who had the habit of putting others in trouble, took his own time to go to the Yamuna to do his midday rites.

राज्ञाथ पारणमुहूर्तसमाप्तिखेदा-
द्वारैव पारणमकारि भवत्परेण।
प्राप्तो मुनिस्तदथ दिव्यदृशा विजानन्
क्षिप्यन् क्रुधोद्धृतजटो विततान कृत्याम् ॥५॥

At the appointed time for breaking the fast the King broke his fast by simply taking water. When Durwasa came back he knew, by his divine vision, what the king had done. Angered, he plucked a stand of matted hair from his head and throwing it created a demoness.

कृत्यां च तामसिधरां भुवनं दहन्ती-
मग्रेऽभिवीक्ष्यन्रुपतिर्न पदाच्चकम्पे ।
त्वद्भक्तबाधमभिवीक्ष्य सुदर्शनं ते
कृत्यानलं शलभयन्मुनिमन्वधावीत् ॥६॥

Seeing before him the demoness carrying a sword and scorching the Earth, the King did not move from his position. Your Sudarshana chakra, seeing that your devotee was threatened, burnt the demoness like insects in a lamp and chased Durwasa.

धावन्नशेषभुवनेषु भिया स पश्यन्
विश्वत्र चक्रमपि ते गतवान् विरिञ्चम्।
कः कलचक्रमतिलंघयतीत्यपास्तः
शर्वं ययौ स च भवन्तमवन्दतैव ॥७॥

Again the Muni came to your abode. You told him “ O Rishi! I am the servant of my devotees. Spiritual knowledge and austerities are respected only if they are accompanied by humility. Go back to the place where Ambarisha is.”


तावत्समेत्य मुनिना स गृहीतपादो
राजापसृत्य भवदस्त्रमसावनौषीत् ।
चक्रे गते मुनिरदादखिलाशिषोऽस्मै
त्वद्भक्तिमागसि कृतेऽपि कृपां च शंसन् ॥९॥

The king, approached by Durvasa who caught hold of his feet, freed himself from the Muni and praised the chakra. After the chakra was gone Durvasa gave Ambarisha all blessings and praised him for his kindness even to one who had hurt him (Ambarisha).

Given below is a reproduction of Dasaka 33 from Narayaneeyam which is a summarized version of the story of Ambarisha described in detail from sloka 15 of chapter 4 and the whole of Chapter 5 of the 9th Canto of Srimad Bhagavatam. A simple transalation in English is given below.

वैवस्वताख्यमनुपुत्रनभागजात-
नाभागनामकनरेन्द्रसुतोऽम्बरीषः ।
सप्तार्णवावृतमहीदयितोऽपि रेमे
त्वत्संगिषु त्वयि च मग्नमनाः सदैव ॥१॥

Ambarisha, son of king Nabhaga who himself was the grandson of Vaivaswata Manu, though the Lord of the Earth surrounded by the seven seas, reveled in the company of your devotees with his mind always immersed in you.

त्वत्प्रीतये सकलमेव वितन्वतोऽस्य
भक्त्यैव देव! नचिरादभृथाः प्रसादम्।
येनास्य याचनमृतेऽप्यभिरक्षणार्थं
चक्रं भवान् प्रविततार सहस्रधारम् ॥२॥

He did everything only to please you and you were O Lord ! pleased by his devotion before long so that, without his asking for it, you gave him a disc with a thousand cutting edges for his protection

स द्वादशी व्रतमथो भवदर्चनार्थं
वर्षं दधौ मधुवने यमुनोपकण्ठे ।
पत्न्या समं सुमनसा महतीं वितन्वन्
पूजां, द्विजेषु विसृजन् पशुषष्टिकोटिम् ॥३॥

In order to worship you, he took a vow to observe Dwadashi Vrata for one full year at Madhuvana near the Yamuna river. Accompanied by his wife, of good heart, he preformed worship on a large scale gifting to brahmins sixty crore cows.

तत्राथ पारणदिने भवदर्चनान्ते
दुर्वाससास्य मुनिना भवनं प्रपेदे ।
भोक्तुं वृतश्च स नृपेण परार्तिशीलो
मन्दं जगाम यमुनां नियमान् व्यधास्यन् ॥४॥
On the day of breaking the fast after the completion of the worship, Durvasa came there. He was invited to dine with the king Ambarisha. Durvasa, who had the habit of putting others in trouble, took his own time to go to the Yamuna to do his midday rites.

राज्ञाथ पारणमुहूर्तसमाप्तिखेदा-
द्वारैव पारणमकारि भवत्परेण।
प्राप्तो मुनिस्तदथ दिव्यदृशा विजानन्
क्षिप्यन् क्रुधोद्धृतजटो विततान कृत्याम् ॥५॥

At the appointed time for breaking the fast the King broke his fast by simply taking water. When Durwasa came back he knew, by his divine vision, what the king had done. Angered, he plucked a stand of matted hair from his head and throwing it created a demoness.

कृत्यां च तामसिधरां भुवनं दहन्ती-
मग्रेऽभिवीक्ष्यन्रुपतिर्न पदाच्चकम्पे ।
त्वद्भक्तबाधमभिवीक्ष्य सुदर्शनं ते
कृत्यानलं शलभयन्मुनिमन्वधावीत् ॥६॥

Seeing before him the demoness carrying a sword and scorching the Earth, the King did not move from his position. Your Sudarshana chakra, seeing that your devotee was threatened, burnt the demoness like insects in a lamp and chased Durwasa.

धावन्नशेषभुवनेषु भिया स पश्यन्
विश्वत्र चक्रमपि ते गतवान् विरिञ्चम्।
कः कलचक्रमतिलंघयतीत्यपास्तः
शर्वं ययौ स च भवन्तमवन्दतैव ॥७॥

The Brahmin community has forgotten its tradition of plain living and high thinking and taken to expensive ways of living. Time was in our land, when Brahmins lived the same simple lives as other communities. This ancient identify of life of different communities is exemplified in some of the expressions we still use. The cooking pot in our... house is called Vengala Paanai, and the diamond ear-rings, which rich women wear, are called varia olai. The words, paanai and olai underline this affinity among all communities. We should avoid the costly new fangled habits, wear only simple apparel, and live frugal lives.

மஹாஸ்வாமிகளுக்கு எல்லா மதத்தினர் மீதும் மரியாதை உண்டு.அதேமாதிரி மற்ற மதத்தினரும் அவருக்கு மரியாதை செலுத்தத் தவறியதே இல்லை.

THE PAiNFUL PART OF PARENTHOOD

A poor couple who lived in a small village in Pakistan. They had only one son. Gave him the best education. Son graduated as an Engineer in the nearby city. Eventually,got married to a rich girl.

Initially, they lived with his parents in the village. Soon the wife got tired of village life and persuaded the husband to move to the city leaving the old parents in the village.

As time passed by the husband seen an advert in the newspaper about a vacancy in Jeddah. He was successful and lived in Jeddah for years with his wife. Regularly he used to send money to parents.

Eventually with time he stopped and forgot about his parents ever existed.

Every year he made Hajj(pilgrimage) and immediately after that he used to see someone telling him in a dream that his Hajj is not accepted.

One day he related story to a pious Aalim who advised him to go back to Pakistan to visit his parents.

The man flew to Pakistan and reached the boundary of the village.

Everything had changed. He could not find his house.

He asked a small boy about the whereabouts of so and so.

The little boy directed the man to a house and said:
"In this house lives an old blind lady who lost her husband a few months ago. She has a son who migrated to Saudi Arabia years back and never came back again. What an unfortunate man?"

Son enters the home and finds his mother on the bed. He tip-toed as not to wake her up.He hears the mother whispering or mumbling something. He gets closer to hear her voice. This is what the mother was saying:
"God ! I am now very old and blind. My husband just died. There is NO HUSBAND to lower me in my grave when I die. So please send my son to fullfill my last wish. "

This is the ending of a story where the PRAYERS of a mother is accepted.

A human body can bear only 45 del (unit) of pain. But at the time of giving birth,a mother feels up to 57 del(unit) of pain. This is similar to 20 BONES GETTING FRACTURED, all at the same time!!

SELF-REMEMBRANCE

Remembering the Self, one’s real nature, without faltering even slightly, is the eminent victory of true jnana.

With your consciousness hold fast to and never abandon the substratum, your own real nature, the supreme that can neither be held nor relinquished.
...
Is the Self something far away that you have to touch it? The higher Self exists as one, but it is only your thoughts that make you feel that it is not. You can neither think about it nor forget it.

Other than the thought of the Self, any other thought you may associate with, is a mere mental construct, foreign to that Self.

Thinking of the Self is to abide as that tranquil consciousness. Padam, the true swarupa, can neither be remembered nor forgotten.

The Self is self-luminous without darkness and light, and is the reality which is self-manifest. Therefore, one should not think of it as this or as that. (All such thoughts would only) end in bondage. The purport of meditation on the Self is to make the mind take the ‘form’ of the Self. In the middle of the heart-cave is the pure Brahman is directly manifest as the Self in the form ‘I-I’. Can there be greater ignorance than to think of It in manifold ways, without knowing It as aforementioned?

நண்பர்கள் இந்த தகவலை முடிந்த அளவுக்கு ஷேர் செய்யுங்கள் அது எல்லோருக்கும் பயனுள்ளதாக இருக்கும் .

முருங்கை இலையை இடித்து சாறு பிழிந்து 15 மில்லி அளவு எடுத்து, அதில் 10 கிராம் மிளகை தூள் செய்து கலந்து, சிறிது தேனும் சேர்த்து குடித்து வர, அதிகப்படியான ரத்த அழுத்தம் சமநிலைப்படும். முருங்கை ஈர்க்கு 2 கைப்பிடி அளவு எடுத்து தண்ணீர் விட்டு காய்ச்சி வடிகட்டி, அத...னுடன் வெங்காயம், சீரகம், மிளகு, நெய் கூட்டி தேவையான உப்பும் சேர்த்து 'சூப்' போல செய்து பருகி வர பெண்களுக்கு மாதவிலக்கின் போது ஏற்படும் வயிற்று வலி குறையும். முருங்கைப் பட்டை, வெள்ளைக்கடுகு. பெருங்காயம் இவற்றை நன்கு அரைத்து சூடாக்கி பொறுக்க கூடிய சூட்டில் மூட்டு வீக்கத்தின் மீது பற்றுப் போட சில நாட்களில் மூட்டுவலி குணமாகும். முருங்கைக் கீரையுடன் உப்பு சேர்த்து இடித்து சாறு பிழிந்து, அதை இடுப்பில் நன்றாக தேய்த்தால் இடுப்புப் பிடிப்பு குணமாகும். அவ்வாறு இரண்டொரு முறை தேய்க்க நல்ல குணம் கிடைக்கும்

* சூதகத் தடை (ஹோர்மோன் பிரச்னை) உள்ள பெண்களுக்கு உடம்பு பருத்து மூன்று, ஆறு மாதங்களுக்குக் கூட மாதவிலக்கு வராமல் இருக்கும். முள்ளு முருங்கை இலையையும் கல்யாண முருங்கை இலையையும் மிக்சியில் போட்டு லேசாக தண்ணீர் தெளித்து அரைத்துக் கொள்ளவும். இதைத் தினமும் காலையில் வெறும் வயிற்றில் 3 தேக்கரண்டி சாப்பிட வேண்டும். சாறு எடுத்த மூன்று மணி நேரத்திற்குள் சாப்பிட்டால்தான் சிகிச்சை பலனளிக்கும்.

* முருங்கைக் கீரையுடன் சிறிது கருப்பு எள் சேர்த்து கஷாயமாக்கி ஒரு வாரம் தொடர்ந்து சாப்பிட்டால் தடைபட்ட மாதவிலக்கு சரியாகும்.

* உலர்ந்த புதினா இலையோடு ஒரு ஸ்பூன் கருப்பு எள் சேர்த்து கஷாயமாகச் செய்து சாப்பிட்டால் மாதவிலக்குக் கோளாறுகள் குணமாகும்.

* கொத்தமல்லி சாறில் கருஞ்சீரகத்தை ஊற வைத்து உலர்த்திப் பொடியாக்கி, தினமும் ஒரு கிராம் அளவுக்குத் தேனில் குழைத்துச் சாப்பிட்டால் மாதவிலக்குக் கோளாறுகள் குணமாகும்.

மாதவிடாய் பிரச்சினைகளுக்கு....ஹெல்த் ஸ்பெஷல்
மாதவிடாய்ல ஏதும் கோளாறுனா... பாவம், பொண்ணுங்க மனசொடிஞ்சு போய்விடுவார்கள் அந்த நேரத்துல அவங்களுக்கு ஆறுதலா நாலு வார்த்தையும்...நல்ல கவனிப்பும் இருக்கணும். கூடவே, பாட்டி சொல்ற மருந்துங்களையும் பக்குவமா தயார் பண்ணி சாப்பிட்டா... எல்லாப் பிரச்சினையும் பஞ்சா பறந்துடும்.

வெள்ளைப்படுதல் சரியாக:

ஆனைநெருஞ்சில் பத்தி கேள்விப்பட்டிருப்பீங்க. அதோட இலை மூணு (எண்ணிக்கை) பறிச்சிட்டு வந்து, ஒரு டம்ளர் நீராகாரத்தில போட்டு, நல்லா கலக்கணும். கொஞ்ச நேரத்துல கொழகொழப்பா வரும். அதை அப்படியே கண்ணை மூடிக்கிட்டு காலையில வெறும் வயித்துல தொடர்ந்து மூணு நாள் குடீச்சீங்கனா... வெள்ளைப்படுதல் வராது.

வேரோடு சேர்த்து, முழுசா ஒரு மணத்தக்காளி செடியை தண்ணி விட்டு அலசி, ஒரு லிட்டர் தண்ணியில போட்டு காய்ச்சி அரை லிட்டராக்கணும். அதை வெள்ளைப்படுதல் படுற இடத்துல ஊத்திக் கழுவினா... நல்ல குணம் கிடைக்கும்.

தாமதமான மாதவிடாய்க்கு:

சில பொண்ணுங்களுக்கு மாதவிடாய் ஒழுங்கா வராம ஒரு வழி பண்ணிரும். அப்படிப்பட்டவங்க பெருந்துத்தி இலை - 5 எடுத்து, அதோட மிளகு 5 சேர்த்து காலையில வெறும் வயித்துல மென்னு சாப்பிடணும். மூணு முதல் அஞ்சு நாள் சாப்பிட்டு பாருங்க... ஒழுங்கா மாதவிடாய் வரும்.

மாவிலிங்கப்பட்டையும் நல்ல மருந்து தான். அதை மையா அரைச்சி நெல்லிக்காய் அளவு எடுத்து காலையில வெறும் வயித்துல சாப்பிட்டீங்கனா தாமதமான மாதவிடாய் தடையில்லாம வரும்.

சதக்குப்பை 50 கிராம் எடுத்து, பொன்வறுவலா வறுத்து பொடியாக்கி, 3 பாகமாக்கி வச்சிக்கிடணும். ஒரு பாகத்தை ரெண்டா பிரிச்சி, காலையிலயும், சாயங்காலமும் சாப்பிடணும். கூடவே, பனைவெல்லம் கொஞ்சம் சேர்த்துக்கணும். இப்பிடி மூணுநாள் சாப்பிட்டாலே வராத மாதவிடாய் வந்துடும்.

கருஞ்சீரகம் 25 கிராம் எடுத்து பொன் வறுவலா வறுத்து பொடியாக்கி, பனைவெல்லம் சேர்த்து காலையிலயும், சாயங்காலமும் சாப்பிட்டா... மாதவிடாய்க் கோளாறு சரியாகும்.

மாதக்கணக்கில் மாதவிடாய் வராமலிருப்பவர்களுக்கு:

வல்லாரை இலை சூரணம் கால் ஸ்பூன் எடுத்து, நெய் விட்டு குழைச்சி சாப்பிட்டு வந்தா... மாதக்கணக்கில் வராத மாதவிடாய் ஒழுங்கா வரும்.

கல்யாணமுருங்கை மாதவிடாய்க் கோளாறுக்கு கைகண்ட மருந்து. கல்யாணமுருங்கை இலைச்சாறு 10 மில்லி எடுத்து, காலையில வெறும் வயித்துல குடிச்சிட்டு வந்தா, மாசக்கணக்குல வராத மாதவிடாய் வரும்.

பெரும்பாடு பிரச்சினைக்கு தும்பை இலை:

மாதவிடாய் நேரத்துல அதிக ரத்தப்போக்கோட வயித்துவலி சேர்ந்து வர்றதை பெரும்பாடுன்னு சொல்வாங்க. இந்த நோயால அவதிப்படுறவுக நாவல் மரப்பட்டை 50 கிராம் எடுத்து, அதுல தண்ணி விட்டு இடிச்சி, 100 மில்லி வர்ற அளவுக்கு தண்ணி சேர்த்து காலையில மூணு நாள் வெறும் வயித்துல குடிச்சா... பெரும்பாடு தீரும்.

ஒரு முழு வாழைப்பூவை எடுத்து, இடிச்சி சாறு பிழிஞ்சி, அதோட ஒரு ஸ்பூன் மோர் விட்டு கலக்கி, காலையில வெறும் வயித்துல மூணு நாள் குடிச்சா.... மாதவிடாய் நேரத்துல வர்ற வயித்துவலியும், ரத்தப்போக்கும் சரியாயிரும்.

கடுக்காய் பத்தி எல்லோருக்கும் தெரிஞ்சிருக்கும். அதோட தோலை மட்டும் 25 கிராம் அளவு எடுத்து, ஒண்ணு ரெண்டா தட்டிப்போட்டு, 100 மில்லி தண்ணி விட்டு கொதிக்கவைக்கணும். அது 25 மில்லியா குறுகினதும் வழக்கம்போல மூணு நாள் குடிங்க. பெரும்பாடு பிரச்சினை சரியாகும்.

அருகம்புல் 10 கிராம், மாதுளை இலை 10 கிராம் எடுத்து, 100 மில்லி தண்ணியில போடடு கொதிக்க வச்சி, 50 மில்லியாக்கி காலையில பாதி, சாயங்காலம் பாதி குடிக்கணும். இதேபோல 5 நாள் குடிச்சா மாதவிடாய் நேரத்துல வர்ற வயித்துவலி, அதிக ரத்தப்போக்கு சரியாயிடும்.

தும்பை இலை ஒரு புளியங்கொட்டை அளவு எடுத்து அரைச்சி, பாலோட கலந்து சாப்பிடணும். இப்படி மூணு நாள் சாப்பிட்டா பெரும்பாடு பிரச்சினை சரியாயிரும்.

இலந்தைஇலை, மாதுளை இலை ரெண்டும் ஒவ்வொரு கைப்பிடி எடுத்து 200 மில்லியாக்கி காலைல குடிக்கணும். மூணுநாள் செஞ்சாலே பெரும்பாடு பிரச்சினை சரியாகும்.

நெல்லி வற்றல், படிகாரம், கல்கண்டு தலா 50 கிராம் எடுத்து பொடி பண்ணி வச்சிக்கிடணும். அதில் கால் ஸ்பூன் எடுத்து, அரை டம்ளர் மோர் சேர்த்து காலை, மாலை 10 நாள் சாப்பிட்டாலே பெரும்பாடு சரியாகும்.
கருஞ்சீரகம் 25 கிராம் எடுத்து பொன் வறுவலா வறுத்து பொடியாக்கி, பனைவெல்லம் சேர்த்து காலையிலயும், சாயங்காலமும் சாப்பிட்டா... மாதவிடாய்க் கோளாறு சரியாகும்.

சாதனை படைக்க முற்பட்டால் வேதனைகளைத் தாங்கும் மனோபலமும் தைரியமும் கட்டாயம் தேவை என்பதை மறந்துவிடாதே !

Telecom consumers can now register complaint about wrongful activation of value added services (VAS) like mobile internet and caller tunes on a new common number, 155223, for all operators.

Telecom operators will have to refund the amount charged for such activation of services if consumers inform about it within 24 ...hours on this common number.

The service has been put in place by telecom operators jointly after telecom regulator Trai refused to give them any leeway in such cases from February 2. Operators reported compliance to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India on February 1.

"A common solution has now been devised for all of industry which will enable simple and easy exit. It came onto force on February 1," Trai Chairman Rahul Khullar told PTI.

Subscribers who have been using any value added services beyond 24 hours can also request for deactivation of service on this number. Telecom operator will have to deactivate service within four hours of getting phone call but the customer will not be eligible to claim refund in such cases.

On July 4, 2011 Trai directed telecom operators to obtain explicit consent of consumers "through consumer originated SMS or e-mail or FAX or in writing within 24 hrs of activation of the value added service and charge the consumer only if the confirmation is received from him" for subscribing it.

The industry has objected to this direction and estimated Rs 12,000 crore revenue loss and over 10,000 job loss on complying with the direction. After failing to convince the regulator, industry body representing GSM players COAI approached telecom tribunal TDSAT but lost.

The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) gave telecom operators three months time (till February 2) to comply with the direction.

As per the rule, operators will have to take consent of subscribers before activating any VAS and deactivate it without charging for it if no consent is received from them.

Trai has asked operators to inform their subscribers about the new facility and also publish its details in newspapers.

D.: What is to be our sadhana?

M.: Sadhana for the sadhaka is the sahaja of the siddha. Sahaja is the original state, so that sadhana amounts to the removal of the obstacles to the realization of this abiding truth.

D.: Is concentration of mind one of the sadhanas?
M.: Concentration is not thinking one thing. It is, on the other hand, putting off all other thoughts which obstruct the vision of our true nature. All our efforts are only directed to lifting the veil of ignorance. Now it appears difficult to quell the thoughts. In the regenerate state it will be found more difficult to call in thoughts. For are there things to think of? There is only the Self. Thoughts can function only if there are objects. But there are no objects. How can thoughts arise at all?
The habit makes us believe that it is difficult to cease thinking. If the error is found out, one would not be fool enough to exert oneself unnecessarily by way of thinking.

D.: How can the rebellious mind be brought under control?

M.: Either seek its source so that it may disappear or surrender that
it may be struck down.

D.: But the mind slips away from our control.

M.: Be it so. Do not think of it. When you recollect yourself bring it back and turn it inward. That is enough.

No one succeeds without effort. Mind control is not one’s birthright. The successful few owe their success to their perseverance.

A passenger in a train keeps his load on the head by his own folly. Let him put it down: he will find the load reaches the destination all the same. Similarly, let us not pose as the doers, but resign ourselves to the guiding Power.

AN INCIDENT-REAL ONE

A doctor entered the hospital in hurry after being called in for an urgent surgery. He answered the call asap, changed his clothes & went directly to the surgery block. He found the boy’s father pacing in the hall waiting for the doctor. 

On seeing him, the dad yelled:
“Why did you take all this time to come? Don’t you know that my son’s life is in danger? Don’t you have any sense of responsibility?”

The doctor smiled & said:
“I am sorry, I wasn’t in the hospital & I came as fast as I could after receiving the call…… And now, I wish you’d calm down so that I can do my work”

“Calm down?! What if your son was in this room right now, would you calm down? If your own son dies now what will you do??” said the father angrily

The doctor smiled again & replied: “I will say what Job said in the Holy Book “From dust we came & to dust we return, blessed be the name of God”. Doctors cannot prolong lives. Go & intercede for your son, we will do our best by God’s grace”

“Giving advises when we’re not concerned is so easy” Murmured the father.

The surgery took some hours after which the doctor went out happy,
“Thank goodness!, your son is saved!” And without waiting for the father’s reply he carried on his way running. “If you have any questions, ask the nurse!!”

“Why is he so arrogant? He couldn’t wait some minutes so that I ask about my son’s state” Commented the father when seeing the nurse minutes after the doctor left.

The nurse answered, tears coming down her face: “His son died yesterday in a road accident, he was at the burial when we called him for your son’s surgery. And now that he saved your son’s life, he left running to finish his son’s burial.”

Moral: Never judge anyone….. because you never know how their life is & what they’re going through”

“அப்போது காமராஜர் முதல்வர். பழைய சட்டமன்ற விடுதியில் மண்ணாங்கட்டி என்பவர் கீழ்மட்ட ஊழியராக இருந்தார். சட்டமன்ற உறுப்பினர்கள் கேட்பதை வாங்கிவந்து தருவார். முதல் தளத்தில் .., முன்பகுதியிலேயே இருக்கும் மூக்கையா தேவர் அறையிலேயே இருப்பார். ஒருமுறை ‘ஏம்பா மண்ணாங்கட்டி அவசரமாக வெளியில போறன்.
குளிச்சு முடிச்சு ரெடியாகுறதுக்குள்ள இட்லிய வாங்கி வந்துடு’ என்று 100 -ருபாயை கொடுத்தார் மூக்கையா தேவர். சொன்னபடியே அவர் ரெடியாகி காத்திருந்தார்.

ரொம்ப நேரம் ஓடியது. தலையில் சுமையுடன் தட்டுத்தடுமாறி வந்தார் மண்ணாங்கட்டி. பார்த்ததும் ’ஏன்யா. நான் அவசரமா வெளியில போகணும்னு காத்துக்கிட்டு இருக்கேன். இட்லி வாங்க இவ்வளவு நேரமா என்று எகிறினார் மூக்கையா தேவர். மண்ணாங்கட்டிக்கு கோபம். என்னங்கய்யா நீங்க. இங்க ஆஸ்ட்டல்ல அவ்வளவு இட்லி இல்லைன்னு சொல்லிட்டாங்க. மவுண்ட் ரோடெல்லாம் போய் அலைஞ்சு 100 ரூபாய்க்கும் இட்லி வாங்குறது லேசுபட்ட காரியமா’என்று பதிலுக்கு சத்தம் போட்டார். அதுதான் மண்ணாங்கட்டி என்ற வெகுளி. அப்பாவி. அவ்வளவு வெள்ளந்தி....

அப்படியான மண்ணாங்கட்டியின் தலையில் ஒருநாள் இடி விழுந்தது. ஒரு அரசாணயை வெளியிட்டிருந்தது அரசு..அந்த உத்தரவை படித்துக்காட்டச் சொன்னார்..வீட்டிலுள்ளவர்களை..அதனைக் கேட்டதும் அழுது புரண்டு கதறினார். ’அரசாங்க உத்தியோகத்தில் எழுதப்படிக்கத் தெரியாதவர்கள் எல்லாம் இனி வேலையில் இருக்கக் கூடாது. பணியில் இருந்து நீக்கப்படுகிறார்கள்’ என்று காமராஜர் போட்ட உத்தரவுதான் அந்தக்கடிதம். இரண்டு நாள் கழித்து பழைய சட்டமன்ற உறுப்பினர் விடுதிக்கு வந்தார்.

முக்கையா தேவரிடம் தரையில் விழுந்து கதறி அழுகிறார்.என்னவென்று கேட்கிறார். ’இப்படி ஒரு உத்தரவு வந்திருக்கிறதே. என் குடும்பம் எல்லாம் நடுத்தெருவுக்கு வந்துடுச்சே. எப்படியாவது காப்பாத்துங்க ஐயா’ என்று பித்துப் பிடித்தவராக அழுகிறார். அவரும் ஏதாவது சமாதானம் சொல்லணுமே என்று ’முதல்வர் ஆபிசுக்கு போன் போடுடா. கேட்டுடலாம்’ என்றார். அப்போது எல்லாம் நேரடியாக தொலைபேசும் வசதி இல்லை. ஆப்பரேட்டரிடம் கூறிவிட்டு காத்திருக்க வேண்டும். முதல்வர் அலுவலகத்தில் யாராவது உதவியாளர் எடுப்பார்கள்.

மண்ணாங்கட்டி புக்செய்த நேரம் உடனே தொடர்பு கிடைத்தது. மறுமுனையில் முதல்வர் காமராஜ். யார் நீங்கள் உங்களுக்கு என்ன வேண்டும் என்கிறார். அய்யா நான்தான் அசம்பிளி ஆஸ்டல் பியூன் மண்ணாங்கட்டி பேசுறங்க ஐயா என்றபடியே அருகில் இருந்த மூக்கையா தேவரைப் பார்க்கிறார். அவருக்கு முதல்வர் அலுவலகத்தில் இருந்து யாராவது உதவியாளர்கள்தான் டெலிபோனை எடுத்திருப்பார்கள் என்ற நினைப்பு. ‘எழுதப்படிக்க தெரியாதவங்க எல்லாம் முதல்வரா இருக்கறப்போ நான் பியூனா இருக்கக்கூடாதான்னு கேளுடா” என்கிறார்.

மறுமுனையில் இருந்த காமராஜரிடம் அதை அச்சுபிசகாமல் ‘ஐயா, எழுதப்படிக்க தெரியாதவங்க எல்லாம் முதல்வரா இருக்கிறப்போ நான் பியூனா இருக்ககூடாதான்னு’ தேவர் ஐயா கேட்க சொல்றாருங்க என்கிறார் மண்ணாங்கட்டி. பிறகு பேச்சில்லை....

அடுத்த 30 நிமிடத்தில் உயர் அதிகாரிகள் 3-பேர் அங்கே வந்துவிட்டார்கள். முதல்வருக்கு போன் செய்தது யார்? என்றார்கள். நான்தான் ஐயா என்று முன்னே வருகிறார் மண்ணாங்கட்டி. முதல்வர் உங்களைக் கையோடு அழைத்துவரச் சொல்லியிருக்கிறார். உடனே புறப்படுங்கள் என்று நிற்கிறார்கள். அப்போதுதான் நாம் பேசியிருப்பது முதல்வரிடம் என புரிகிறது. மூக்கையா தேவருக்கும் பதட்டம். மண்ணாங்கட்டி ’ஐயா நீங்களும் வாங்க’ என்று அழுகிறார். பின்னாடியே வருகிறேன். நீ போப்பா என்று அனுப்பி வைக்கிறார். கோட்டையில் உள்ள முதல்வர் காமராஜை நோக்கி வாகனம் பறக்கிறது.

முதரல்வரின் அறையில் உள்ள சோஃபாவில், கன்னத்தில் கைவைத்தபடி கவலைதோய்ந்த முகத்தோடு உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிறார் காமராஜர். கதவு திறக்கப்படுகிறது. மண்ணாங்கட்டி முதலில் நுழைய அதிகாரிகள் சற்று ஒதுங்கி கதவோரம் நின்று கொண்டார்கள். நீங்கதான் மண்ணாங்கட்டியா...என்கிறார். ஆமாங்க ஐயா. நான்
தெரியாம பேசிட்டேன். என்னை மன்னிச்சுடுங்க ஐயா என்றபடியே கீழே விழுந்தார். அந்த கலாச்சாரம் காமராஜருக்கு பிடிக்காது. அதிகாரிகளை பார்க்க உடனே எழுப்பி நிற்க வைக்கிறார்கள். அவரை வா...வாண்னேன். வந்து பக்கதில உட்காருங்கன்னேன் என்றழைக்கிறார். மண்ணாங்கட்டி தயங்கி நிற்கிறார். காமராஜர் முறைக்க தயங்கி தயங்கி பக்கத்தில் சென்று உட்காருகிறார்.

மண்ணாங்கட்டியை முதுகில் தட்டிக்கொடுத்து முகத்தையே உற்றுப்பார்த்த முதல்வர் காமராஜ், பட்டென்று கையெடுத்து கும்பிட்டு ‘நான் தப்பு பண்ணீட்டன் தெரியாம செய்திட்டன். மன்னிச்சுடு. அந்த தவறை நீதான் புரியவைச்சே...ரெண்டு நாளா உங்கவீட்ல சோறுதண்ணியில்லியாமே.
சமைக்கலயாமே....உங்களுக்கு ரெண்டு பொம்பள புள்ளைங்க...எல்லாத்தையும் இப்பதான் தெரிஞ்சுகிட்டேன்..எவ்வளவு பெரிய தப்பு செய்திருக்கேன்.. நான் அப்படி ஒரு உத்தரவு போட்டிருக்கக்கூடாது. ‘இனிமே புதிதாக வேலைக்கு வருபவர்களுக்கு எழுத படிக்க தெரிந்திருக்க வேண்டும்’னு போட்டிருக்க வேண்டும். நான் செய்தது
தவறுதான் என்று தட்டிக்கொடுத்து ஆதரவு சொல்ல மண்ணாங்கட்டி கதறி அழுகிறார். காமராஜருக்கும் பேச்சு இல்லை...

அடுத்து அங்கேயே ஒரு உத்தரவு தயாராகிறது. காமராஜர் கையொப்பமிடுகிறார். மண்ணாங்கட்டிக்கு மீண்டும் அரசு வேலை. அதிகாரிகளை பார்த்து ‘இவரை அழைத்துக்கொண்டு போங்க. வேலை கொடுத்தாச்சு. இனி கவலைப்படாதீங்கன்னு அவரோட மனைவி, குழந்தைங்ககிட்ட சொல்லுங்க’ன்னு அதிகார குரலில் உத்தரவிடுகிறார். பிறகென்ன நினைத்தாரோ சற்று தயங்கி ’போகிறபோது வெறும் கையோட போகாதீங்க. ஓட்டல்ல எல்லாருக்கும் சாப்பாடு வாங்கிட்டு போய்க் கொடுங்க. ரெண்டு நாளா அவர்கள் சாப்பிட்டிருக்க மாட்டர்கள்’ என கண்டிப்போடு கூறுகிறார் அந்த அதிகாரிகளிடம்.

மண்ணாங்கட்டிக்கு பேச வார்த்தைகளின்றி கையெடுத்து கும்பிட்டபடியே வெளியேற, முதல்வர் காமராஜரும் எழுந்து கையெடுத்து கும்பிட்டபடியே அனுப்பிவைத்தார்.

According to mythology, the Devas of yore, sought the Lord’s help by performing a sacrifice at this place, with a view to destroy the wicked demon Durgamasura, who was constantly troubling the people around this region. As per the directions of the Lord, goddess Shakambari appeared through the fire of the ‘Yagna Kunda’, and fought a grim battle with the demon. Finally she destroyed him and brought peace and prosperity to the people. According to the story mentioned in ‘Banashankari Mahatmye’, Shakambari is described as the ‘Deity of nature and vegetation’, and that she manifests as Mahalakshmi, Mahakali and Maha-Saraswati.

Historically, it is believed that the original shrine of Banashankari was in existence here, even before the reign of the Chalukyas of Badami. They gave importance to the customs of the Vaishnavas, Jains, Shaivas and Shaktas. But, they were mainly worshippers of goddess Banashankari, the deity of Shakti.

An inscription at the temple premises mentions that the Chalukyan king Jagadeka Malla renovated the old shrine of Banashankari and made considerable improvements. A pillar situated to the north of the temple, bears an inscription in Kannada, during back to 1019 A.D. It describes the bravery of the Rashtrakuta king, Bhimadeva. Another inscription states that the great warrior Ketimayya erected a huge Deepa Stambha (lamp pillar) in front of the temple.

SAMADHI

This morning, a European who was sitting in front of Bhagavan said through an interpreter:

“It is stated in the Mandukyopanishad that, unless samadhi, i.e., the 8th and last stage of yoga, is also experienced, there can be no liberation (moksha) however much meditation (dhyana) or austerities (tapas) are performed. Is that so?”

Bhagavan: “Rightly understood, they are the same. It makes no difference whether you call it meditation or austerities or absorption, or anything else. That which is steady, continuous like the flow of oil, is austerity, meditation and absorption. To be one’s own Self is samadhi.”

Questioner: “But it is said in the Mandukyopanishad that samadhi must necessarily be experienced before attaining liberation.”

Bhagavan: “And who says that it is not so? It is stated not only in the Mandukyopanishad but in all the ancient books. But it is true samadhi only if you know your Self. What is the use of sitting still for some time like a lifeless object?

Suppose you get a boil on your hand and have it operated under chloroform; you don’t feel any pain at the time, but does that mean that you were in samadhi? It is the same with this too. One has to know what samadhi is. And how can you know it without knowing your Self? If the Self is known, samadhi will be known automatically.”

Meanwhile, a Tamil devotee opened the Tiruvachakam and began singing the “Songs on Pursuit”. Towards the end comes the passage,

“Oh, Ishwara (personal God), You are trying to flee, but I am holding You fast. So where can You go and how can You escape from me?”

Bhagavan commented with a smile: “So it seems that He is trying to flee and they are holding Him fast! Where could He flee to? Where is He not present? Who is He? All this is nothing but a pageant. There is another sequence of ten songs in the same book, one which goes,

‘O my Lord! You have made my mind Your abode. You have given Yourself upto me and in return have taken me into You. Lord, which of us is the cleverer? If You have given Yourself up to me, I enjoy endless bliss, but of what use am I to You, even though You have made of my body Your Temple out of Your boundless mercy to me? What is it I could do for you in return? I have nothing now that I could call my own.’

Control of Mind vs. Destruction of Mind

D: When I am engaged in enquiry as to the source from which the 'I' springs, I arrive at a stage of stillness of mind beyond which I find myself unable to proceed further. I have no thought of any kind and there is an emptiness. a blankness. A mild light pervades and I feel that it is myself bodiless. I have neither cognition nor vision of body and form. The experience lasts nearly half an hour and is pleasing. Would I be correct in concluding that all that was necessary to secure eternal happiness (i.e. freedom or salvation or whatever one calls it) was to continue the practice till this experience could be maintained for hours, days and months together?

B: This does not mean salvation; such a condition is termed manolaya or temporary stillness of thought. Manolaya means concentration, temporarily arresting the movement of thoughts; as soon as this concentration ceases, thoughts, old and new, rush in as usual and even though this temporary lulling of mind should last a thousand years it will never lead to total destruction of thought, which is what is called salvation or liberation from birth and death. The practicer must therefore be ever on the alert and enquire within as to who has this experience, who realises its pleasantness. Failing this enquiry he will go into a long trance or deep sleep (Yoga nidra). Due to the absence of a proper guide at this stage of spiritual practice many have been delude and fallen a prey to a false sense of salvation and only a few have, either by the merit of good acts in their previous births, or by extreme grace, been enables to reach the goal safely.

Sadhakas (seekers) rarely understand the difference between this temporary stilling of the mind (manolaya) and permanent destruction of thoughts (manonasa). In manolaya there is temporary subsidence of thought-waves, and, though this temporary period may even last for a thousand years, thoughts, which are thus temporarily stilled, rise up as soon as the manolaya ceases. One must therefore, watch one's spiritual progress carefully. One must not allow oneself to be overtaken by such spells of stillness of thought: the moment one experiences this, one must revive consciousness and enquire within as to who it is who experiences this stillness. While not allowing any thoughts to intrude, he must not, at the same time, be overtaken by this deep sleep (Yoga nidra) or Self-hypnotism. Though this is a sign of progress towards the goal, yet it is also the point where the divergence between the road to salvation and Yoga nidra takes place. The easy way, the direct way, the shortest cut to salvation is the Enquiry method. By such enquiry, you will drive the thought force deeper till it reaches its source and merges therein. It is then that you will have the response from within and find that you rest there, destroying all thoughts, once and for all.

This temporary stilling of thought comes automatically in the usual course of one's practice and it is a clear sign of one's progress but the danger of it lies in mistaking it for the final goal of spiritual practice and being thus deceived. It is exactly here that a spiritual guide is necessary and he saves a lot of the spiritual aspirant's time and energy which would otherwise be fruitlessly wasted.

Mother loves her child but later on, an unfaithful son causes her sorrow. We know of cases where mother starts litigation against sons or sons against mother. If one loves another, and if one of them dies, the bereavement causes sorrow. The bank helps people who have deposited money with them. It is supposed to remove the sorrows of the people in times of need. But when the bank itself is liquidated or closed, the depositors weep. Their sorrows once gave sustenance to the bank. The more we love, the greater the sorrow in consequence. Then, shall we decide that we should not love anyone at all? The object of this birth is to bestow undivided love on someone. The subject of our love should not be quarrelsome or separable. If we say that we should love only the imperishable God, then the question is: can we hate others? Let us learn to love all by realizing that God is in all. God is eternal and our love for him should be eternal.

A child eats earth. Its hands are tied by the mother. The child gets angry and cries. Is it without reason the mother ties it's hands? We do not know the mercy of Universal Mother. The good or harm coming to us has its source in Her Grace; Suffering - Her Grace for some reason. We must accept whatever comes to us, good or bad, as Her Grace. We do not know why she gives it. Our vision is limited. We do not know what precedes it or follows it. If we are able to look into the past present and future, we will know that God does no harm to us. Other than God, there is no kith or kin for us.

நீண்ட நேரம் உட்க்காருவது உயிருக்கு ஆபத்து..! எச்சரிக்கை தகவல்..!

நீண்ட காலம் வாழ ஆசையா… இதை உட்கார்ந்து படித்து கொண்டிருப்பவர்கள் எழுந்து நில்லுங்கள். ஆம். ஒரு நாளில் 11 மணி நேரம் வரை உட்கார்ந்து இருப்பவர்களில் 40 சதவீதத்தினர் அடுத்த 3 ஆண்டுகளில் உயிரை விடும் ஆபத்து அதிகம் என்று மிரட்டுகிறது ஒரு ஆய்வு முடிவு. ஆஸ்திரேலியாவின் சிட்னி பல்கலைக்கழக பொதுநல மருத்துவ பிரிவு பேராசிரியர் ஹைட் வான் டெர் பிளாஜ். இவரது தலைமையில் ஒரு குழு நடத்திய ஆய்வில் 2 லட்சம் பேர் பங்கேற்றனர். அதன் அறிக்கை ஏஐஎம் என்ற மருத்துவ இதழில் வெளியானது. அதில் இடம்பெற்ற விவரங்கள்.

நீண்ட நேரம் உட்கார்ந்திருப்பதே பல்வேறு உடல் பாதிப்புகளை ஏற்படுத்தக் கூடியது. பருமன், டயபடீஸ் ஆகியவை அவற்றில் முக்கியமானவை. ஒரு நாளில் 4 மணி நேரத்துக்கு குறைவாக உட்கார்ந்தே இருப்பவர்களுடன் ஒப்பிடுகையில், 11 மணி நேரத்திற்கு அதிகமான நேரம் உட்கார்ந்து இருப்பவர்கள் மிகவும் பாதிக்கப்படுகிறார்கள். இவர்களில் 40 சதவீதத்தினர் அடுத்த 3 ஆண்டுகளில் உயிரிழக்கும் அபாயம் இருக்கிறது.

2 லட்சம் பேரிடம் நடத்தப்பட்ட உடல் உழைப்பு, எடை, உடல் ஆரோக்கிய நிலை ஆகியவற்றின் அடிப்படையில் துல்லியமாக நடத்திய ஆய்வில் இது தெரிய வந்தது. ஜிம்முக்கு போய் உடற்பயிற்சி செய்வது, நீண்ட நடைபயிற்சி ஆகியவையும் அவசியம்தான். ஆனால், அவற்றை விட மிக முக்கியமானது நீண்ட நேரம் ஒரே இடத்தில் உட்காராமல் இருப்பது. உட்கார்ந்தே இருந்தால் பல உடல் பாதிப்புகளை ஏற்படுத்தும்.

பழங்களை எப்போது எப்படி சாப்பிட வேண்டும்..!

காலையில் படுக்கையில் இருந்து எழுந்ததும் வெறும் வயிற்றில் பழங்கள் சாப்பிட்டால் உடலில் சேர்ந்திருக்கும் நச்சுப்பொருட்களை மலமாக வெளியேற்றும். இதனால், உடலுக்கு புத்துணர்ச்சியும், தெம்பும் கிடைக்கும். 

சாப்பிட்ட பின்பு பழம் சாப்பிட்டால் முதலில் பழம்தான் ஜீரணமாகும். உணவுகள் செரிக்க கூடுதல் நேரமாகும்.
உட்கொண்ட உணவுகள் செரிக்காத நிலையில், உடனே பழங்கள் சாப்பிடுவதால் வயிற்றுக்குள்ளே செரிமானமாகிக் கொண்டிருக்கும் உணவு கெட்டுப் போகும். அதனால், சாப்பிடுவதற்கு ஒரு மணி நேரத்திற்கு முன்பாகவோ அல்லது பின்னரோ பழங்கள் சாப்பிடுவதுதான் உடலுக்கு ஆரோக்கியம் தரும்.

பழங்களை தனியாக சாப்பிடாமல், அதனுடன் இனிப்பு சேர்த்து மிக்சியில் போட்டு அடித்து ஜூஸாக சாப்பிடும் வழக்கம் பலரிடம் உள்ளது. இது தவறு.
பழங்களை ஜூஸாக சாப்பிடுவதைவிட பழமாக அப்படியே சாப்பிடுவதுதான் நல்லது.
அவ்வாறு சாப்பிடுவதால் நார்ச்சத்து நிறைய கிடைக்கும். சத்தும் முழுமையாக கிடைக்கும்.

உலகின் தலைசிறந்த 10 பேரில் மதுரை இளைஞர்..!

நட்சத்திர ஓட்டலில் வேலை பார்த்த, விருதுகள் வென்ற செப் சமையல் கலைஞரான இவர், 2002ல் சுவிட்சர்லாந்து ஓட்டல் நிறுவனத்தில் வேலை கிடைத்தவுடன் அங்கு செல்வதற்காக மதுரை ரயில்வே ஸ்டேஷன் வந்தார். மதுரையில் பிறந்து வளர்ந்து வெளிநாடு போகப் போகிறோம் என்ற எண்ணத்தில் மீனாட்சி அம்மனை தரிசிக்க செல்லும் போது கண்ட காட்சி அதிர்ச்சியளித்தது. வயதான ஒரு மனிதன் பசியில் மனித கழிவை எடுத்து உண்பதை பார்த்த காட்சி என்னை உறைய வைத்தது. அந்த நிமிடத்தில் உடனே நான் சென்ற வாகனத்தை நிறுத்திவிட்டு அருகில் இருந்த ஹோட்டலில் இட்லி வாங்கி அளித்தேன். சில நொடிகளில் அந்த உணவை அவர் உண்டுவிட்டு கண்ணீரின் மூலம் நன்றி தெரிவித்தார்.

எதற்காக நாம் வெளிநாடு போகப்போகிறோம்? பணம் சம்பாதித்து என்ன செய்யப்போகிறோம் என்ற கேள்வி எழவே நான் அப்பொழுது முடிவு செய்தேன். பசித்தவர்களுக்கு உணவு கொடுப்பதுதான் என் வேலை என்று என் மனதில் தோன்றியது. இது அட்சயா டிரஸ்ட் நிறுவனர் நாராயணன் கிருஷ்ணன் என்பவரின் பேச்சு.

இது போன்ற மனிதர்களை தேடிச் சென்று உணவு கொடுக்க ஆரம்பித்தார். இதுவரை 1.20 கோடி பேருக்கு தினமும் காலை, மதியம், இரவு என உணவு வழங்கி வருகிறார். இதற்காக “அக்ஷயா டிரஸ்ட்’ என்ற அமைப்பையும் “ஸ்பான்சர்கள்’ உதவியுடன் நடத்தி வருகிறார். மதுரையை சுற்றி கண்ணில் படும் இதுபோன்ற மனிதர்களை தேடிப்பிடித்து உணவு தருகிறார். இதற்காக தனது வாழ்கையை முழுமையாக அர்ப்பணித்துள்ள இவர், சி.என்.என். வெப்சைட்டால், உலகின் தலை சிறந்த 10 ரியல் ஹீரோக்களில் ஒருவராக தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

கடந்த 10 ஆண்டுகளாக 49 லட்சம் உணவுகளை பசியோடு இருப்பவர்களுக்கு தன் கைகளால் சமைத்து வழங்கியிருக்கிறார். இவர் ஒரு சமையல்கலைஞர். வெளிநாட்டில் பல லட்சம் டாலர்களை சம்பாதிப்பதை துறந்துவிட்டு பசித்தவர்களுக்கு உணவு கொடுத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார். அதனாலேயே 2010ம் ஆண்டு சிஎன்என் டாப் டென் ஹீரோ விருது நாராயணன் கிருஷ்ணனை தேடி வந்திருக்கிறது.

ஏழை எளிய மக்களை தேடிசென்று உணவு கொடுப்பதென்பது அரிய மகத்தான பணி .. கோவில் உண்டியலில் பணத்தை கொட்டுபவர்கள இவரின் கைகளின் குடுங்கள் உங்களுக்கு கடவுள் குடுப்பதை விட இது பெரிய புண்ணியம் ..வளரட்டும் இவரின் சேவை.. வாழ்த்துக்கள் ...!!!

The operator said, "I'll be glad to help, dear. What's the name and room number of the patient?" The old lady in her weak, tremulous voice said, "Norma Findlay, Room 302."

The operator replied, "Let me put you on hold while I check with the nurse's station for that room."

After a few minutes, the operator returned to the phone and said, "I have good news. Her nurse just told me that Norma is doing well. Her blood pressure is fine; her blood work just came back normal, and her physician, Dr. Cohen, has scheduled her to be discharged tomorrow."

The old lady said, "Thank you. That's wonderful. I was so worried. God bless you for the good news."

The operator replied, "You're more than welcome. Is Norma your daughter?"

The old lady said, "No, I'm Norma Findlay in Room 302. No one tells me anything"!
